No Volvo Deal For BMW
By Turbonius J. Monkey | September 14, 2007
Norbert Reithofer, speaking at the Frankfurt auto show, claims there is no truth to the rumored acquisition of Volvo from Ford. Claiming a lack of synergies between the companies, BMW being a “rear-wheel-drive car company” and the Swedish manufacturer in question being noted for front drivers.
Now this is just supposition on the part of your Editor, but isn’t one of their most notable and best selling automobiles the Mini Cooper? Could it be possible that the Swedish coachmaker is too rich for BMW’s blood, and Herr Reithofer is just trying to save face?
