BMW to launch diesels in U.S. – AutoWeek Magazine
By Turbonius J. Monkey | January 3, 2008
It looks like we’re finally going to begin seeing some “sporting” diesels here in the good ole USA thanks to BMW. Auto Week is reporting that BMW will be adding diesel power to their North American line-up. 6.2 seconds to 60 for the 335d sedan is no slouch, and not only that on a vehicle that gets 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The X5 SAV will also be available with the same common rail 3.0-liter inline 6 diesel engine which delivers a healthy 265 horses and crazy torque at 425 lb-ft. Even more interesting is the prospect of a 204 HP four cylinder.
